Podcast: Data 4 The People + Another Jacob Rant

This time was very different.

This was the first time I discussed my work at Data 4 The People with a podcaster. And I couldn't have been blessed with a better podcaster to talk with. Over the 90 minutes we spoke, prodded by Jacob’s thought-provoking questions, I felt sadness, frustration, hopefulness, introspection, and downright anger (…I may have dropped several f-bombs). 

But I was so happy with how it ended. We struck a hopeful tone. I have complete conviction that we can fix the problems plaguing our society if we decide to:

1. Care about others, and
2. Do the work

It’s this simple. The technology is there for those us with time to really understand what’s going on. The barriers to really powerful data work are no longer insurmountable. But we have to prioritize this work. That’s no small challenge given the myriad distractions that act as boundaries to progress at every step. But it can be done if our discipline and empathy remain unwavering.
